Role Responsibilities:

As an Aviation Project Coordinator, you will work closely with Engineers, Planners, and Technicians. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and analyses for municipal and regional airport projects.
  • Developing comprehensive Airport Master Plans and Airport Layout Plans.
  • Implementing environmental planning and natural resource management strategies pertinent to aviation projects.

This position involves participating in complex airport planning projects, where your duties may encompass:

  • Technical analysis and documentation.
  • Public outreach and engagement.
  • Managing project budgets and schedules.
  • Overseeing team members and subconsultants.
  • Maintaining client communication.

We seek candidates who demonstrate strong self-motivation and can apply their aviation planning and environmental expertise across various aviation projects.

Location: This position may be based out of any of our Twin Cities locations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Civil Engineering, Land Use Planning, Transportation Planning, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Experience:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in aviation planning, including the preparation of detailed Airport Master Plans, Airport Layout Plans, and environmental documentation for airports.

Required Skills:

  • Proven knowledge of aviation principles.
  • Exceptional technical writing skills.
  • Strong commitment to quality assurance and task completion.
  • A valid driver's license is required, with limited travel to project sites and agencies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with ArcGIS software in a planning context.
  • Familiarity with state aeronautics requirements.
  • Understanding of FAA airport design and planning principles, including FAA Advisory Circulars.
  • Certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners.
  • Knowledge of Part 139 regulations.
