POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Director of Product Merchandising to enhance our Global Product Merchandising team. The ideal candidate will possess a collaborative spirit, a proven track record of excellence, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail. Strong leadership and organizational skills are essential, along with a commitment to developing outstanding products and a passion for consumer service. This role requires effective partnership with diverse teams across the globe.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Product Merchandising team oversees the Chuck Footwear Portfolio for men, women, and children. In this role, you will guide multiple team members through the product development process, focusing on consumer needs and collaborating with cross-functional peers. You will spearhead the product strategy, ensuring profitability while delivering innovative solutions that meet consumer demands. Your responsibilities will include managing the sports line and working with lifestyle and performance product management teams to ensure alignment and drive a comprehensive footwear portfolio strategy. Collaboration with merchandising, design, development, and marketplace planning will be crucial throughout the footwear creation process, from line planning to final product approval. You will conduct market research, manage product creation workflows and data, maintain product tools, and work effectively with functional partners to meet critical deadlines.

COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS

You will closely collaborate with product management teammates across genders, as well as global merchandising, design, development, marketplace planning, and marketing teams to oversee the product creation process and support our go-to-market strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience managing multiple direct reports in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Merchandising, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in product-related roles.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to drive vision and strategy across functions while balancing competing interests.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team of direct reports.
  • Proficiency in Keynote presentation development and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate a footwear vision into a multi-year line plan.
  • Experience in relationship management, particularly with professional athletes.
  • A passion for skateboarding and sneaker culture.
  • Deep understanding of streetwear consumers, including their tastes, habits, preferences, interests, and behaviors.
  • Optimistic outlook with a commitment to fostering hopefulness and confidence about the future.
  • Experience in Franchise, Classification, and Lifecycle Management.
  • Proficient in media event presentations and interviews.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 20% of the time.
