POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Director of Product Merchandising to enhance our Global Product Merchandising division. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative professional with a proven track record of excellence, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail. Strong leadership and organizational skills are essential, along with a commitment to creating outstanding products and a passion for consumer engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Product Merchandising team oversees the Chuck Footwear Portfolio for men, women, and children. This role involves leading a team through the product development cycle, focusing on consumer needs and collaborating with cross-functional partners. Responsibilities include:
- Driving product strategy while ensuring profitability and innovative solutions for consumer demands.
- Managing the sports line and collaborating with lifestyle and performance product management teams across genders to maintain a cohesive footwear portfolio.
- Working closely with merchandising, design, development, and marketplace planning teams throughout the footwear creation process, from line planning to final product approval.
- Conducting market research to inform product development, managing workflows and data, and maintaining product tools.
- Ensuring timely delivery on critical milestones and fostering a strong team environment.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
This role requires close collaboration with product management teams across genders, as well as global merchandising, design, development, marketplace planning, and marketing teams to guide the product creation process and support our go-to-market strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience managing multiple direct reports in a dynamic, agile environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in product-focused roles.
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to align vision and strategy across various functions while balancing competing interests.
- Experience in team management and development.
- Proficient in creating and delivering presentations, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate a footwear vision into a multi-year product line plan.
- Strong relationship management skills, including experience with professional athletes.
- A genuine passion for skateboarding and sneaker culture.
- Deep understanding of streetwear consumers, including their tastes, habits, and preferences.
- Optimistic outlook and dedication to fostering a positive and confident future.
- Experience in franchise, classification, and lifecycle management.
- Skilled in media event presentations and interviews.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel globally up to 20% of the time.
