Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Administrative Assistant to join our Nursing Administration team at CHRISTUS Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to Patient Care Directors and contribute to the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to Patient Care Directors, including scheduling, correspondence, and data entry.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files.
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and travel arrangements as needed.
  • Develop and implement effective administrative processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year post-high school secretarial/computer training or two years secretarial experience in a hospital or clinic setting required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite applications (email, Scheduler, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) at intermediate to advanced level.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and effectively communicate with colleagues and patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • 5 years office or administrative support experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in a clean, well-lit, ventilated, smoke-free environment.
  • Subject to stressful professional relationships and VDT exposure.
  • Working hours are varied, with flexibility due to unexpected changes in schedule and emergencies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work for long periods of time at a computer terminal using sound ergonomic principles.
  • Extensive use of hands for writing and use of computer.
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, stoop, and reach.
  • Moderate physical effort (able to lift/carry up to 15 lbs.).
