Automotive Parts Specialist

Job Overview:
The primary role of the Automotive Parts Specialist is to ensure an outstanding and efficient customer experience by effectively overseeing the processes involved in ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, and returning parts associated with each repair order. This position is crucial in enhancing customer satisfaction by confirming the accuracy and quality of parts received in alignment with the production timeline and vehicle requirements.
Compensation: $16 - $18 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the WOW (Wow Operating Way) strategy consistently.
- Relay all customer inquiries and requirements to the relevant team members.
- Collaborate with suppliers to procure and receive parts as specified in the repair orders, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and quantity of parts received, while identifying necessary components for shop repairs.
- Guarantee timely distribution of parts to the workshop in accordance with the production schedule.
- Input all parts invoices into the designated Management Information System (MIS).
- Organize and monitor all parts by the R.O.#, storing them with the vehicle and/or scheduled repairs; communicate any Parts Price Changes (also known as Parts Price Increases - PPI) to all relevant team members.
- Order and receive additional parts in the MIS, track the performance of parts, materials, and subcontracted vendors. Ensure daily reconciliation of the parts vendor invoice history report (e.g., 043 Report).
- Ensure timely posting and filing/scanning of invoices and credit memos.
- Verify that vendor invoices reflect the correct negotiated discounts to maintain appropriate profit margins.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3+ years of experience in automotive parts (experience with auto body parts is advantageous).
- Strong customer service orientation and exceptional organizational skills to manage stress and competing priorities, demonstrating initiative in problem-solving scenarios.
- I-Car Registered (working towards Gold Class certification).
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, showcasing multitasking capabilities while working under pressure.
- Familiarity with vehicle repair practices.
- Proficient in Management Information Systems: Summit, Repair Centre.
- Knowledgeable in: Mitchell, Audatex.
- Experience with parts sourcing: Car-part, Progi, APU, LKQ B2B.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Above-average computer proficiency.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Capability to excel in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others to achieve shared objectives.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent bending, crouching, reaching, and handling of tools.
- Ability to lift materials exceeding 50 lbs.
