Automotive Parts Wholesale Specialist

Position Overview:
The Wholesale Parts Counter Specialist possesses extensive knowledge of wholesale automotive components and accessories, enabling them to effectively address inquiries and fulfill customer needs both in-person and via phone. This role involves identifying automotive parts from the existing inventory or sourcing them from alternative channels (such as online platforms, suppliers, or other dealerships) and coordinating their delivery and installation.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The perfect candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in automotive parts and accessories, ideally within a dealership environment. A friendly and professional demeanor, coupled with strong customer service and organizational abilities, is essential. Proficiency in phone communication and computer skills, along with excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities, are also required. Familiarity with ADP software and bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish, is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process sales transactions by entering purchased items into the sales/inventory system, collecting payments, adding purchases to credit accounts, and issuing sales receipts.
- Manage and cultivate wholesale accounts through in-person interactions and phone communications, keeping the Parts Manager updated on account statuses.
- Receive customer orders, clarify requests, identify automotive parts, and propose alternative solutions as necessary.
- Maintain parts inventory by verifying stock levels and placing orders when necessary.
- Organize stock by unpacking, arranging, and placing items in designated areas, while updating the inventory system accordingly.
- Handle returned items by inspecting them, processing refunds, issuing credits, repackaging, and restocking items, as well as returning damaged products to suppliers.
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment by adhering to safety standards and procedures.
- Enhance job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and staying informed about new products.
- Track all incoming and outgoing parts for wholesale accounts.
- Collaborate with wholesale account representatives to ensure inventory availability as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience (dealership experience preferred).
- Experience with Mercedes-Benz products is a plus.
- Exceptional telephone and customer service skills.
- Experience in inventory management.
- A strong desire to work in a commission and performance-driven environment.
- Professional appearance and work ethic.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Able to thrive in a process-oriented environment.
- Capable of building relationships with vendors.
- Experience with ADP software is a plus.
