Job Overview:

The primary role of the Automotive Parts Specialist is to ensure an outstanding customer experience by effectively managing the entire lifecycle of parts associated with repair orders. This includes the processes of ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, and returning parts. The Specialist is crucial in maintaining the quality and accuracy of parts received, aligning with production schedules and vehicle requirements.

Compensation: $16 - $18 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the WOW (Wow Operating Way) strategy consistently.
  • Relay customer requests and requirements to the relevant team members.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to procure and receive parts as specified in repair orders, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and quantity of parts.
  • Facilitate prompt distribution of parts to the workshop in line with the production timeline.
  • Input all parts invoices into the designated Management Information System (MIS).
  • Organize and monitor parts by Repair Order number, ensuring proper storage with the vehicle and scheduled repairs; Communicate any Parts Price Changes to necessary team members.
  • Order and receive additional parts in the MIS, oversee vendor performance, and ensure daily reconciliation of parts vendor invoices.
  • Ensure timely posting and filing/scanning of invoices and credit memos.
  • Verify that vendor invoices reflect the correct negotiated discounts to uphold profit margins.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3+ years of experience in automotive parts management (experience with auto body parts is advantageous).
  • Strong customer service orientation and organizational skills to handle pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • I-Car Registered (pursuing Gold Class certification).

Essential Skills

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating multitasking capabilities under pressure.
  • Familiarity with vehicle repair practices.
  • Knowledge of Management Information Systems: Summit, Repair Centre.
  • Familiarity with: Mitchell, Audatex.
  • Parts sourcing knowledge: Car-part, Progi, APU, LKQ B2B.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Above-average computer proficiency and organizational skills.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with others to achieve common objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to bend, crouch, reach, and handle tools.
  • Ability to lift materials exceeding 50 lbs.
