Job Overview:
The Automotive Parts Specialist is responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience while effectively overseeing the processes of ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, and returning parts associated with each repair order. This role is crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction by confirming the accuracy and quality of parts received in alignment with the production schedule and vehicle requirements.
Compensation: $16 - $18/ hr
Primary Responsibilities
- Implement the WOW (Wow Operating Way) strategy consistently.
- Relay all customer inquiries and requirements to the relevant team members.
- Collaborate with suppliers to procure and receive parts as specified on repair orders, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and quantity of parts are correct.
- Guarantee timely distribution of parts to the workshop in accordance with the production timeline.
- Input all parts invoices into the designated Management Information System (MIS).
- Organize and monitor all parts by the R.O.#, storing them with the vehicle and/or scheduled repairs; communicate any Parts Price Changes (also known as Parts Price Increases - PPI) to the necessary team members.
- Order and receive additional parts in the MIS, assess the performance of parts, materials, and subcontracted vendors. Ensure daily reconciliation of the parts vendor invoice history report (e.g. 043 Report).
- Ensure that invoices and credit memos are processed and filed/scanned promptly.
- Verify that vendor invoices reflect the correct negotiated discounts to maintain appropriate profit margins.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3+ years of experience in automotive parts (experience with auto body parts is advantageous).
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent organizational skills to manage pressure and conflicting priorities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- I-Car Registered (working towards Gold Class certification).
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating multitasking capabilities while working under pressure.
- Familiarity with vehicle repair practices.
- Proficient in Management Information Systems: Summit, Repair Centre.
- Knowledgeable in: Mitchell, Audatex.
- Experience with parts sourcing: Car-part, Progi, APU, LKQ B2B.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Above-average computer skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Capability to adapt and succeed in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others to achieve common objectives.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to bend, crouch, reach, and handle tools.
- Ability to lift materials exceeding 50 lbs.
