Job Overview

The Sales & Event Services Manager operates under the guidance of the General Manager, playing a pivotal role in promoting and selling event spaces and associated services to prospective clients. This position requires exceptional communication and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with clients, event planners, and organizers to understand and fulfill the requirements of various events.

Important Note: This role does not provide relocation assistance. Candidates must reside within the Nashville area. We seek a sales expert with a strong background in hospitality or the music entertainment sector.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Generate revenue by identifying new business opportunities and cultivating a robust client portfolio, focusing on corporate, association groups, festivals, and weddings.
  2. Proactively seek leads and pursue new business opportunities in both the downtown and wider metropolitan areas.
  3. Leverage hospitality knowledge to maintain relationships and stay informed about market trends, competition, and customer preferences.
  4. Engage with local caterers and meeting planners to ensure a steady pipeline of future events.
  5. Stay aligned with departmental revenue goals and strategically focus on sales opportunities to meet these targets.
  6. Provide communication services to clients and promoters.
  7. Collaborate with clients and staff to ascertain event requirements, staffing needs, pricing, equipment necessities, and logistics.
  8. Coordinate and document event requirements as requested by promoters, agents, and clients, ensuring smooth operations by communicating with staff and vendors.
  9. Oversee management services for all events.
  10. Work with facility staff to facilitate event planning and scheduling, ensuring efficient daily operations.
  11. Make necessary adjustments to room or equipment setups as requested, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  12. Direct and coordinate contract and event support staff, including security, catering, and decoration teams.
  13. Address and resolve issues that arise during events, responding to client complaints effectively.
  14. Maintain accurate records of events, expenses, revenues, and vendor payments.
  15. Collect and analyze data on event attendance and usage, maintaining comprehensive mailing lists and event files.
  16. Issue invoices, monitor receivables, and manage collections.
  17. Ensure consistent, high-quality service while fostering positive relationships with clients and groups.
  18. Conduct evaluations post-event to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  19. Act as a liaison between the venue, clients, and external vendors to uphold Cannery Hall's reputation for exceptional hospitality.
  20. Ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures, particularly regarding financial and legal matters.
  21. Create and update event maps and floor plans as necessary.
  22. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3-5 years of experience in hospitality-related event sales is required.
