Position Overview

As a key player in the management of events, you will oversee the entire process of assigned functions, ensuring that all aspects, including catering and service, are executed flawlessly for a vibrant multi-functional venue. You will lead a team of Event Managers to successfully deliver private and special events across various locations. Your collaboration with sales, culinary teams, and venue leadership will be crucial in discovering innovative event concepts and culinary offerings. This role reports directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the complete event lifecycle while guiding Event Managers in the planning and coordination of their respective events. Ensure that all banquet event orders and details are accurate and effectively communicated.
  • Act as the primary liaison with potential clients, planners, and vendors, managing inquiries, conducting site visits, preparing budget estimates, and clarifying venue policies and best practices.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for rental and special event clients from confirmation to completion, ensuring exceptional customer service. Collaborate with clients to develop comprehensive project plans that meet their specific needs and objectives, including detailed timelines and layouts.
  • Work closely with internal departments and vendors to creatively enhance events and special projects. Clearly define marketing strategies, schedules, staffing, and equipment requirements to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Engage with clients prior to events to align on expectations and collaborate with internal teams to address any issues that arise, ensuring all stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Identify and maximize upsell opportunities while providing coaching and training to Event Managers and service teams to enhance revenue.
  • Ensure timely submission of invoices and documentation to the Accounting department, maintaining compliance with financial controls and ensuring all payments are collected before events.
  • Analyze event budgets and expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate vendor contracts.
  • Collaborate with sales and venue leadership to optimize the event calendar for maximum utilization and profitability.
  • Partner with the Senior Banquet Captain to train service staff on customer service, serving etiquette, and new menu offerings.
  • Uphold corporate standards, policies, and procedures in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, maintaining personal integrity and supporting company values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in food and beverage or event planning and execution.
  • Proven experience in supervising and leading teams.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management principles and event management systems is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Capability to motivate and inspire team members to deliver outstanding service.
Licenses / Certifications
  • State Alcohol Education Card required upon hire.
  • Certified Food Safety Manager certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Completion of Crowd Management training upon hire.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.
