We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Coordinator to join our team at Marriott International Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing events of average complexity, ensuring seamless turnover from sales to service and back to sales. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate event logistics and operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups, identifying operational challenges and developing alternative solutions.
- Act as liaison between field salesperson and customer throughout the event process, participating in customer site inspections and assisting with the sales process as necessary.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, empowering employees to provide excellent service and setting a positive example for guest relations.
- Oversee customer experiences from file turnover through the post-event phase, following up with customers and responding to guest problems and complaints.
- Lead formal pre- and post-event meetings, facilitating various meetings as necessary, and conducting human resources activities such as reviewing comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
- Assist in the sales process and revenue forecasting for customer groups, up-selling products and services throughout the event process.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with 2-3 years of experience in event management or a related field.
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, with at least 1 year of experience in event management or a related field.
Marriott International Inc. offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $76,000 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including a bonus program, health insurance, 401(k) plan, and more.
