Sales Development Manager

Job Summary:

This role will focus on driving sales growth for Balchem Ingredient Solutions in the bakery, meat, and confectionary industries. The successful candidate will develop and execute sales strategies to increase profitable sales in assigned territories, build strong relationships with customers, and provide feedback to internal stakeholders on sales trends and customer preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development: Plan, schedule, and conduct regular meaningful sales calls to assigned accounts and territory prospects, arranging meetings for various company professionals to provide multi-level support and build relationships.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Demonstrate a customer-centric mentality and drive to understand the needs of both existing and potential new customers, developing sales strategies for territory and assigned accounts.
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Communicate and maintain accurate customer forecasts for product usage, coordinating sales efforts to ensure effective sales service, customer relations, and administrative needs.
  • Market Intelligence: Obtain and report marketing data for successful achievement of business objectives and strategies, monitoring trends, competitive activity, product development, and market penetration.
  • Territory Management: Independently identify customer needs and work closely with Marketing, Product Development, Business Unit Management, and other staff to deliver marketable products in concert with customer needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously search for new potential accounts as a means for increasing sales in assigned territory, following all safety policies and procedures, and performing other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years of hands-on sales experience and knowledge of food ingredients.
  • Polished customer relations and sales skills.
  • Ability to coordinate the efforts of company and customer teams and establish strong working relationships.
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills.
  • BA degree required.
