Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Grant Programs to lead our grant operations team and oversee the grants management system. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of best practices in grantmaking and experience leading teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the grant administration process, from initial application to disbursement, ensuring compliance with grant program guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all applicants, grant recipients, funding allocations, and payments.
  • Manage all communications with applicants and grantees, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Develop and implement improvements to streamline processes and enhance efficiency, leveraging technology and data management systems.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to build a grant program budget, administer echecks, and reconcile payments.
  • Lead a team of four associates, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
  • Promote a culture of learning and development, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • 7 years of experience in grants administration and management at a charitable foundation or other type of grant-making organization.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, equivalent experience considered in lieu of BA.
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills, with experience managing staff and leading teams.
  • Strong understanding of best practices in grantmaking, including database management and system administration.
  • Excellent project management, process improvement, and change management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to change.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams for virtual meetings.
