The Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington is seeking a dynamic and growth-oriented individual who aligns with our mission of empowering young girls to make a positive impact in the world. As the Program Manager for the Afterschool Community Troops, you will play a pivotal role in leading and enhancing our youth programs.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the Portland Public School (PPS) Afterschool Community Troops (ACT) program, focusing on program design, execution, and fostering partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Ensure the integration of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) into all program activities, adhering to organizational policies and standards.
- Manage a team of 10-12 seasonal part-time Program Activity Leaders (PALs) and interns, including their recruitment, training, and performance oversight.
- Collaborate with the Latina Outreach Manager to coordinate all facets of the PPS ACT Program.
- Establish measurable goals to meet program delivery standards, including membership and participation targets.
- Administer budgets, grants, and financial reporting, including the approval of team expenses.
- Support the creation of proposals and compliance documentation for grant-funded programs.
- Act as a representative of the organization when engaging with educational leaders, community partners, and volunteers.
- Provide training and mentorship to PALs to ensure effective program delivery.
- Supervise daily program operations and administrative tasks to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Coordinate schedules for program sites and staff.
- Gather and analyze program evaluation data to assess effectiveness and inform future initiatives.
- Encourage participation in council-wide events and ensure full engagement in Girl Scouts programming.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations to enhance Girl Scouts programs.
- Utilize the council's registration and customer relationship systems for managing interactions with participants.
- Participate in meetings, events, and retreats as required by organizational needs.
- Contribute to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives through active participation.
- Support the achievement of strategic objectives and key performance indicators.
- Bachelor's degree or a relevant combination of education and experience in social sciences, education, youth development, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
- At least two years of experience in youth programming, particularly with diverse populations.
- One year of experience managing grants or contracts.
- Proficiency in report generation and data presentation.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred, with strong communication abilities.
- Commitment to social justice and the ability to work with diverse groups.
- Experience in curriculum development and facilitation for K-12 students.
- Skills in program evaluation and assessment.
- Strong organizational and conflict resolution skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Willingness to travel to various program sites, requiring reliable transportation.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Compensation: Exempt/salaried, starting at $60,000 to $80,000 annually, with additional compensation for bilingual skills.
