About the Role

Ombudsman Educational Services, a leading provider of alternative and special education programs, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Student Enrollment Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our recruitment and retention team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to attract and retain students from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and Retention: Develop and implement innovative strategies to increase student enrollment, including outreach and engagement with local communities, schools, and organizations.
  • Community Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with community-based providers, administrative staff, and other stakeholders to promote academic and social achievement.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with the department to develop community relations plans and promote new and ongoing initiatives for student recruitment and retention.
  • Database Management: Develop and maintain a database of interested students for direct mail and email contact.
  • Admissions Process: Supervise the admissions process, including directing and supervising online admissions, responding to families regarding admissions decisions, and managing wait lists.
  • Family and Community Relations: Promote family and community relations opportunities through developing policies and implementing programs at community events.
  • Marketing and Community Relations: Work with health centers, community-based organizations, insurers, and community coalitions to develop programs, events, and new initiatives that promote marketing and community relations objectives.
  • Liaison and Communication: Serve as a liaison with key student support services, including post-secondary counseling, social workers, assistant principals, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's or better in Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience: Demonstrated ability to effectively use a variety of database and other computer support systems, understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures, ability to represent the company effectively in a variety of settings and with diverse communities, and demonstrated program development and implementation skills.
  • Skills: Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, problem-solving, multi-tasking, conflict resolution, decision-making, and organizational skills. Bilingual skills are a plus.
