Job Summary

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah, in collaboration with Intermountain Primary Children's Medical Center, is actively seeking a fellowship-trained pediatric gynecologist dedicated to an academic career focused on pediatric and adolescent gynecology.

This role encompasses clinical responsibilities along with the education of medical students, residents, and fellows regarding the assessment and management of pediatric and adolescent gynecologic and reproductive health issues.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Delivering services at University of Utah Hospital and Primary Children's Medical Center in patient care, education, and research aligned with professional training and career aspirations.


2. Providing educational instruction and oversight to fellows (in pediatric endocrinology, reproductive endocrinology, pediatric surgery, and pediatric urology), residents (in obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, and family medicine), and medical students in the field of pediatric and adolescent gynecology.


3. Conducting lectures for fellows, residents, and medical students as required.


4. Participating in Grand Rounds, M&M Conferences, Journal Club, Division meetings, and other departmental activities.


5. Engaging in mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.


6. Involvement in fellow and resident recruitment processes.


7. Participation in pediatric multi-disciplinary clinics.


Additionally, faculty members are expected to contribute to various administrative and committee responsibilities.


Required Skills and Qualifications:


- Proficient written and verbal communication abilities.


- Maintenance of professional licensure and continuing medical education (CME) obligations.


- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills.


Minimum Education and Training:


- MD or DO from an accredited institution.


- Board certified or board eligible in obstetrics/gynecology.


- Completion of a pediatric and adolescent gynecology fellowship.


- Eligibility for the ABOG focused practice designation in pediatric and adolescent gynecology (if not currently eligible, a plan to sit for the exam when eligible in the future).


Academic rank will be determined based on experience.
