We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our Pediatric Pain Program at the University of Utah. The successful candidate will provide operational oversight of our intensive interdisciplinary chronic pain program, including clinical care, research, education, and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical care services to patients in the Chronic Pain Clinic at Primary Children's Hospital
- Develop and implement a day treatment program and expand services across the Intermountain West via telehealth and potential outreach clinics
- Facilitate collaboration between the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, and child life specialists
- Develop and implement state-of-the-art techniques to ease pain symptoms caused by various conditions
- Recruit and manage a team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and Division Chief to develop and implement strategic plans for the Pediatric Pain Program
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Pediatrics, Pediatric Rheumatology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Anesthesia, or Psychiatry
- Preferred: Board Certified in Pain Medicine or willingness to complete additional training in Pediatric Chronic Pain
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Strong clinical and administrative skills
