Position Overview

Title: Child Abuse Pediatrician
Department: Pediatric S & H Families
Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Role Summary:
The Child Abuse Pediatrician will be an integral member of the clinical team within the Division of Child Protection and Family Health at the University of Utah School of Medicine. This role is focused on providing medical evaluations and consultations for children suspected of experiencing maltreatment, both in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver comprehensive medical assessments for children undergoing evaluations for suspected abuse.
2. Collaborate with medical and community professionals, including child protective services and law enforcement, across the Intermountain region.
3. Provide clinical services at various facilities, ensuring a broad reach within the community.
4. Engage in academic activities, including education, research, and advocacy efforts.

Clinical Environment:
The Center for Safe and Healthy Families operates within a leading pediatric trauma center, serving a diverse patient population from multiple states. The facility is equipped to support a wide range of clinical services, including trauma therapy, and has a robust research and outreach program targeting rural and underserved communities.

Qualifications:
Applicants must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics and Child Abuse Pediatrics. The selected candidate will be appointed to the Department of Pediatrics, with rank and track dependent on experience and qualifications.
