Position Overview:
The Division of General Pediatrics at the University of Utah is seeking a dedicated full-time Pediatric Healthcare Specialist to enhance our esteemed faculty of clinician-educators and researchers.

About Us:
Our Division comprises Generalists, Developmental-Behavioral specialists, and Quality Improvement professionals who collaborate to deliver clinical care, educate future healthcare providers, conduct research, and advocate for children with diverse health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
The Pediatric Healthcare Specialist will be responsible for providing direct patient care in primary care outpatient clinics and at the University Hospital Well Baby and Intermediate Care Nurseries. Clinical responsibilities may include:

  • Evening and weekend shifts primarily at our University Pediatric Clinic and Sugar House Health Centers.
  • Taking telephone calls as required by the Division.

Expectations:
In addition to delivering comprehensive team-based care, the role involves:

  • Participating in the education of future healthcare providers.
  • Engaging in research initiatives.
  • Advocating for both typically developing children and those with special health care needs.

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Pediatrics. Proficiency in performing circumcisions and mentoring learners in these procedures is essential. Candidates should be willing to work some evenings and weekends. Experience in teaching and involvement in quality improvement projects is preferred. We especially welcome candidates interested in developing our Medically Unexplained Physical Symptoms program or those with experience in managing complex medical conditions.

Faculty Appointment:
The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on either the Clinical or Tenure track, at an academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
