OVERVIEW
The Applications Systems Manager is tasked with overseeing, optimizing, and fine-tuning proprietary software applications utilized within the organization.

This role involves orchestrating and coordinating the necessary processes to ensure that user applications are effectively aligned with operational needs.

The individual in this position will leverage strong communication and analytical skills to support user groups in addressing challenges related to the design, development, and implementation of critical information and software systems.

The Applications Systems Manager reports directly to the IT Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Oversight

Ensure that software application systems align with organizational objectives and user needs, identifying and resolving any system-related challenges, particularly focusing on customer relationship management (CRM), digital marketing platforms, and transactional systems.

Conduct thorough assessments of existing application systems to evaluate their effectiveness and efficiency, developing strategies for enhancement and integration.

Promote and share knowledge of application systems and industry best practices.

Manage software product selection processes, including requirement gathering, evaluation criteria establishment, and vendor demonstrations.

Implementation & Deployment

Assess, install, configure, and launch new applications or enhancements to existing systems, ensuring consistent communication with users throughout the process.

Collaborate with application stakeholders to test new software solutions.

Verify that new software integrations meet functional specifications and compliance standards.

Oversee the installation of software upgrades and enhancements.

Act as a liaison with software vendors to resolve issues promptly.

Operational Leadership

Lead projects and provide guidance to IT and other departments to support operational goals.

Assist in the planning and coordination of compliance certifications, ensuring that application modifications adhere to best practices.

Take primary responsibility for CRM systems, transactional platforms, and business intelligence tools.

Maintain an inventory of software applications and associated contracts.

Develop and deliver training materials for end users, facilitating workshops as needed.

Generate reports in response to business user requirements.

Additional responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of two years of relevant experience with CRM systems.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

At least four years of direct experience in application management or systems administration.

Demonstrated experience in guiding the implementation of software solutions.

Familiarity with server and PC operating systems.

Strong project management skills and experience with project-based work environments.

Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Ability to think critically and creatively to address a variety of challenges.

Highly organized, energetic, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in nonprofit organizations managing retail and transactional systems.

Salesforce Certified Administrator (ADM-201) preferred.

Experience with retail operations and inventory management systems.

Familiarity with general ledger accounting systems.
