Systems Analyst for PeopleSoft Applications

Systems Division:
This division oversees the management of the City and County of San Francisco's Enterprise Oracle and PeopleSoft Applications, including various modules such as Human Capital Management (HCM) and Financials and Supply Chain Management (FSCM). These systems streamline operations for over 55 City Departments, enhancing efficiency and transparency while reducing reliance on outdated systems.
Role Summary:
The Systems Integration and Batch Operations Analyst will engage in comprehensive business systems analysis and provide critical support for operational and batch processes within the ELM, HCM, and FSCM applications. This role involves managing batch processing tasks, utilizing tools such as PeopleSoft Process Scheduler and BMC Control-M.
Key Responsibilities:
- Align business workflows with application configurations and batch processing protocols.
- Establish and implement settings for application and scheduling systems.
- Assess system requirements and develop enhancements for existing processes.
- Identify opportunities for process automation to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Facilitate seamless integration of new tools and systems.
- Gather and analyze business requirements for batch processes.
- Support software installation and modifications, including programming and debugging.
- Provide troubleshooting and analytical support for application issues.
- Manage and escalate risks throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Conduct system analysis and maintain documentation for new and modified systems.
- Collaborate with city departments and external vendors to assess system needs.
- Assist in preparing service requests for system changes and evaluate implementation efforts.
- Deliver technical support for online and batch systems, including report generation.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure project completion and quality of work.
- Design and normalize databases, ensuring data integrity and functionality.
- Research software solutions and develop evaluation criteria.
- Document system designs and specifications, conducting reviews for proposed solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date functional and technical documentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
A degree in business administration, public administration, information systems, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent coursework.
Experience:
A minimum of three years in the information systems domain, focusing on system analysis, business process design, and application development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with job scheduling systems, particularly BMC Control-M.
- Experience with PeopleSoft HCM and FSCM modules, including customization and testing.
- Proficiency in PeopleSoft Development Tools and programming languages.
- Experience as a Business Analyst in the public sector.
- Knowledge of Tier-1 ERP systems.
- Advanced skills in PeopleSoft modules related to financial management.
- Experience in developing training materials and conducting user training sessions.
