As a Senior Systems Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the technology that supports the Security Command Center, including the enterprise physical access control system and video management system. Your responsibilities will encompass monitoring technical safeguards for regulatory adherence, managing system updates and lifecycle strategies, supervising asset onboarding and offboarding, and spearheading projects related to access control and video surveillance systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as NERC CIP, SOX, BPU, and FERC Affiliate Restrictions.
- Manage patching cycles for both workstations and servers.
- Upgrade and implement systems as necessary.
- Oversee lifecycle management and vulnerability mitigation strategies.
- Support infrastructure projects effectively.
Essential Qualifications
To thrive in this position, candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Engineering, or have five or more years of technical experience in physical security systems. A minimum of two years of experience with physical access control and video management systems is required. Proficiency in Active Directory administration, strong knowledge of networking and security IP devices, and troubleshooting skills in security technology are essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools is also necessary.
Preferred Skills
Candidates with prior experience in the security sector, certifications in AMAG Symmetry, Genetec, and Commend, as well as knowledge of NERC CIP compliance, will have an advantage. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is highly desirable.
Work Environment
The ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks effectively, respond to urgent situations, and collaborate seamlessly with IT and Cyber Security Risk Compliance (CSRC) teams is crucial for success in this role.
