Position Overview

The Collections Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations related to the collection of overdue payments, facilitating order releases, and assessing credit risks. This position entails supervising a team of 5-7 collection agents while also actively participating in collection and credit functions for a designated portfolio of accounts.

As a hands-on leader, the Supervisor will exemplify teamwork and foster accountability among team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily collection activities for major accounts, track payment patterns and delinquencies, and implement necessary actions to resolve issues, including collaboration with collection agencies.
  • Analyze and review accounts along with relevant collection reports to pinpoint factors contributing to account delinquencies.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies regarding credit and collections.
  • Engage with the Accounts Receivable Manager and Sales teams to discuss accounts that present risks or challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable Manager and Credit Analysts to assess and adjust credit limits for clients.
  • Work alongside the Cash Supervisor to address account reconciliations and issues related to unapplied cash.
  • Assist in managing and delegating inquiries received in the Accounts Receivable inbox.
  • Support month-end closing activities.
  • May undertake additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Collections, including supervisory roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop team members.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with all organizational levels while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management abilities.
  • Skills in root cause analysis, with the foresight to identify potential challenges and prepare effective solutions.
  • Proven maturity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and maintaining a professional demeanor is essential.
