Position Overview:
This position is dedicated to facilitating timely payments from clients for goods and services rendered, adhering to established payment agreements. Success in this role hinges on proactive engagement with clients, effective prioritization, and diligent monitoring of customer accounts and payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients through various communication channels including phone, email, and postal correspondence.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with clients and internal teams, particularly in Sales and Sales Operations, to exchange information and collaboratively manage customer accounts.
  • Oversee a designated portfolio of client accounts, taking initiative to address and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Verify that customer credits are allocated to the correct invoices or resolved in accordance with company policies.
  • Make a specified number of outbound collection calls weekly.
  • Document and track commitments to pay and/or payment arrangements, ensuring thorough records of client interactions.
  • Negotiate payment plans with clients in instances of non-payment or to settle outstanding balances.
  • Identify high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate credit holds.
  • Suggest accounts for write-off or referral to external collection agencies based on collection efforts.
  • Compile monthly reports detailing payment collection activities.
  • Maintain regular communication with sales and management regarding the status of the portfolio.
  • May undertake additional tasks or projects as assigned by the Collections Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) along with relevant credit experience or training, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred experience in customer service and/or collections.
  • Proficient computer skills are essential.
  • Exhibits a high level of organization, accuracy, and customer service aptitude.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals and foster professional relationships.
  • Proven ability to meet productivity targets and deadlines.
  • Capable of functioning well within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel is advantageous.
