Position Overview

The Collections Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations related to the recovery of overdue payments, overseeing order releases, and assessing credit risks. This position entails supervising a team of 5-7 collection agents while also actively participating in collection and credit tasks for a designated portfolio of accounts.

This role emphasizes leading by example, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring accountability among team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily collection efforts for priority accounts, analyze payment patterns and delinquencies, and take appropriate actions to resolve issues, including liaising with collection agencies.
  • Evaluate and monitor accounts alongside relevant collection reports to pinpoint factors contributing to account delinquencies.
  • Guarantee adherence to company policies regarding credit and collections.
  • Engage with the Accounts Receivable Manager and Sales teams to discuss accounts that present risks or challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable Manager and Credit Analysts to assess customer credit limits.
  • Partner with the Cash Supervisor to address account reconciliations and unresolved cash matters.
  • Assist in managing and directing inquiries received in the Accounts Receivable inbox.
  • Support month-end closing activities.
  • Undertake additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Collections, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and develop team members.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and time-management skills.
  • Skills in root cause analysis, with the foresight to identify potential challenges and devise solutions.
  • Proven experience in handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Exemplary teamwork, adaptability, and professionalism are essential.
