Client Services Representative I

The Customer Support Specialist position offers assistance to residents, staff, and the general public regarding Development Services applications and permits, business and liquor licenses, public works requests, burglar alarms, and utility billing in both in-person and call center settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and input Development Services applications and permits into the system.
  • Digitally archive applications.
  • Process payments via cash, check, and/or credit card for Development Services and Finance transactions.
  • Maintain the cash drawer and prepare daily bank deposits, ensuring accurate reconciliation of payments.
  • Issue and renew business licenses, including processing new applications and taking payments.
  • Manage Public Works service requests from residents, covering various departments such as Streets, Environmental Services, and Water Quality.
  • Address inquiries related to utility billing, business licensing, and permitting.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree (A.S., A.A.) or a two-year technical certificate in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a customer service role or call center environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience with multiple software systems.
  • 1 year of cashiering experience, if applicable.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge and skills for the role.

Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with colleagues, supervisors, and external customers.
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations, cashiering procedures, data entry, and filing.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and prioritization abilities.
