Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Patient Access Coordinator to enhance our operational team. In this role, you will be instrumental in promoting departmental effectiveness. Your duties will encompass patient onboarding, pre-admission, and admission processes, along with reception and discharge responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcoming and Registration:
    • Welcome patients in accordance with company Standards of Care.
    • Deliver outstanding customer service.
    • Facilitate patient registration.
    • Comply with financial and cash management protocols.
    • Clarify and manage hospital and patient legal documentation.
    • Digitally archive protected health information.
    • Compile and maintain patient records.
    • Assist in scheduling medical procedures.
    • Conduct patient interviews.
    • Clarify hospital policies and procedures.
  • Financial Guidance and Collection:
    • Offer financial advice and education.
    • Utilize compliant collection methods.
    • Execute cash reconciliation tasks.
  • Insurance Verification and Authorization:
    • Confirm insurance coverage and benefits.
    • Complete financial clearance for registration.
    • Secure insurance authorizations.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Evaluate admission, discharge, and transfer reports alongside revenue metrics.
    • Lead Patient Access Operations initiatives.
    • Collaborate to enhance operational processes.

  • Minimum typing proficiency of 35 words per minute.
  • Proven experience with relevant software/systems.
  • Background in a healthcare setting or health insurance industry.
  • Prior experience in Patient Access is advantageous.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • 2-4 years of pertinent experience.
  • Exceptional customer service capabilities.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic environment.
  • Some college coursework is preferred.
