Position Overview

The Chief Human Resources Officer at The Ladders will be instrumental in shaping and implementing the organization's human capital strategy as we expand. This role involves leading a dedicated team of HR professionals and serving as a strategic partner to senior management in various domains such as employee relations, performance enhancement, organizational growth, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), among others. You will also spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and overall workplace experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a team of HR professionals who will strategically collaborate with their respective departments, serving as the primary contact for matters related to coaching, employee relations, performance evaluation, compensation, team dynamics, engagement, and employee transitions.
  • Optimize team structure and resources to effectively address the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Act as the HR partner for new and upcoming locations, collaborating closely with leadership to establish and implement best practices for successful operations.
  • Lead the comprehensive employee experience and engagement strategy, which includes conducting annual engagement surveys, facilitating new hire check-ins, planning engagement initiatives, and managing exit interviews.
  • Direct the performance management framework, encompassing goal setting, mid-year reviews, performance assessments, and talent evaluation processes.
  • Contribute as a member of the People & Talent Leadership Team to develop and execute the overarching human resources strategy for the organization.
  • Oversee the annual DEI reporting and action planning initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop team members while fostering strong relationships with leaders across the organization. Maintain a thorough understanding of the organization's daily operations, strategic goals, and financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with program leadership and staff to enhance workplace relationships, cultivate a positive culture, and improve employee retention.
  • Address and resolve complex employee relations challenges, conducting thorough and impartial investigations.
  • Utilize HRIS systems effectively, preferably ADP, and assist the broader HR team in implementing enhancements that boost operational efficiency.
  • Stay informed about legal requirements and government regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in drafting and revising HR policies as necessary.
  • Maintain a relentless focus on unlocking the organization's full potential and enhancing the workplace environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • SHRM or PHR certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in HR business partner roles and 3 years in leadership positions.
  • Demonstrated success as a trusted advisor and HR partner to senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through complex employee relations and performance management scenarios.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Experience in HR reporting and analysis, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in a startup HR environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and adapt to the needs of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with both leaders and staff.
  • Capability to identify trends in both quantitative and qualitative data and effectively communicate insights to the organization.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for contributing to the mental health sector.
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload.
  • Proficient in fundamental HR concepts, employment law, tools, and policies.
