Position Overview:

As the Chief Human Resources Strategist at Compass Health Center, LLC, you will be instrumental in shaping and implementing the comprehensive people strategy as the organization expands. You will lead the HR business partner team and serve as a trusted consultant to leadership across various domains such as employee relations, performance management, organizational development, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and more. This role will report directly to the Chief People Officer and will oversee a team that is essential to our growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise a team of HR Business Partners who will strategically align with their respective teams, serving as the primary contact for coaching, employee relations, performance management, compensation, team effectiveness, engagement, and other HR matters.
  • Optimize team structure and resources to effectively meet organizational needs.
  • Act as the HR business partner for new and upcoming sites, collaborating closely with site leaders to establish and implement best practices for successful launches.
  • Lead the end-to-end employee experience and engagement strategy, which includes conducting annual engagement surveys, new hire check-ins, engagement action planning, and exit interviews.
  • Oversee the performance management strategy and processes, including goal setting, mid-year evaluations, performance assessments, and talent review processes.
  • Contribute as a member of the People & Talent Leadership Team to develop and execute the overall people strategy for the organization.
  • Direct the annual DEI reporting and action planning initiatives.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the HR team while fostering proactive relationships with leaders across the organization. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Compass's daily operations, strategic goals, and financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with program leadership and employees to enhance workplace relationships, foster a positive culture, and improve retention rates.
  • Address and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and impartial investigations.
  • Utilize HRIS systems, preferably ADP, to assist the broader HR team in implementing efficiency-enhancing changes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations.
  • Assist in drafting and updating HR policies as necessary.
  • Focus relentlessly on unlocking Compass's full potential and enhancing the workplace environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • SHRM or PHR certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in HR business partner roles and a minimum of 3 years in leadership positions.
  • Demonstrated success as a trusted advisor and HR business partner to senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through complex employee relations and performance management challenges.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Experience with HR reporting and analysis; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in a startup HR environment is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and adapt to the needs of the business and team.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to build relationships with leaders and staff.
  • Ability to identify trends in both quantitative and qualitative data and effectively communicate insights to the business.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for working in the mental health sector.
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload.
  • Proficient in fundamental HR concepts, employment law, tools, and policies.
