What does this position do?

We are looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources (HR) Intern to provide crucial support to our Human Resources department. This role will assist in various HR-related tasks, ensuring the smooth functioning of HR operations. Squishable's HR Intern will help with a number of important functions such as onboarding, training & development, offboarding, and compliance tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide communication support; handle incoming HR Tickets and direct as appropriate for resolution.
  • Facilitate the completion of necessary onboarding paperwork and tasks for both new hires and hiring managers in Gusto and Airtable.
  • Support benefit administration by helping administer enrollment forms and performing ad-hoc audits of deductions and invoices as necessary.
  • Support specific operational needs including updating store policies, time reporting, time management, and record keeping.
  • Support training and development initiatives for Retail and Corporate teams.
  • Help in employee record maintenance and updating projects.
  • Assist with HR Documentation: Help in the maintenance of HR documentation, including employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, MS Office Software Systems

  • Knowledge of HR Best Practices and software tools.
  • Quick learner of New Online Platforms and Software Technologies.
  • Proven capability to foster and support a positive, inclusive, diverse, and highly collaborative employee culture.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Prior retail experience is a plus.

Duration:

This position is temporary and expected to last 2-3 months. However, there might be possibilities for extension based on workload and performance.

Location: Washington DC Office

This position will be required to work from our downtown DC office 3 days per week, Monday -Wednesday, 8 hours per day.

Pay for this position is $18 an Hour
