Key responsibilities:
The Events specialist will be responsible for managing key aspects of WCN’s events including the 2-day Wildlife Conservation Expo on Oct 5-6, 2024, virtual events, and other donor event opportunities as they arise. They will work with the Senior Community Engagement Manager to implement the events strategy and tactics critical to connecting our supporters and conservationists in a personal way.
Expo and Donor Events
Provide execution support for the Wildlife Conservation Expo leading up to and on the weekend of October 5-6, as well as events as they may arise.
Attend events and support on-site registration and vendor management
Manage relationships with vendors for all event related needs (ex: catering, rentals, décor, etc.)
Support the layout, lighting, sound, and other atmospheric conditions
Organize catering and rental orders for all events
Manage hotel bookings for staff, conservation partners, and donors
Support travel logistics for Conservation Partners, donors, and staff
Manage Expo Marketplace, coordinating with conservation partners, WCN staff, and volunteers
Recruit, assign roles, and communicate with Expo volunteers
Assist with general event registration
Order, produce, and keep inventory of all event materials (ex. signage, nametags, merchandise,)
Create and analyze surveys for post-event feedback and draft debrief documents
Experience and Skills:
Associates degree preferred
At least 4 years of direct event management experience
Excellent and proven organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-directed; able to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and deadlines.
Ability to operate in and enjoy a collaborative, team-oriented culture, and to work in a fair, supportive, and cooperative manner
Must have reliable transportation and reside in the Bay Area. Upcoming event will be held in San Francisco.

Benefits:
This will be an hourly full time position with a salary range of $35-$38/hour. The position is fixed term and will include health benefits. WCN is headquartered in San Francisco, California and this position will require travel to events in all of the Bay Area. WCN offers a hybrid workstyle, with requested office days to be Thursdays.
