The State Department Federal Credit Union is looking for a Secondary and Special Finance Accountant responsible for managing accounting functions related to derivatives and the secondary mortgage market. This role ensures accurate and compliant financial reporting, implements efficient accounting processes, and provides strategic financial insights to support business objectives.

Key responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, developing efficient accounting processes, and providing recommendations. The Secondary and Special Finance Accountant will foster a culture of excellence and collaborate with various departments to enhance financial performance and mitigate risks.

Required Skills and Competencies:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience

2. Loan Commitment and PPE Experience Required

3. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on derivatives and/or the secondary mortgage market.

4. Knowledge of relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, ASC 815, ASC 860) and regulatory requirements.

5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

6. Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

7. Proficiency in accounting software and financial modeling tools.

8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
