The Acord (Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development) is seeking a Finance Operations Manager, reporting directly to the Finance Director. This role will serve as a vital, hands-on collaborator with various teams within Acord, including membership, development, and program management. Key Responsibilities
The following responsibilities outline the essential functions and requirements of this position:
  • Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, deferred revenue, and fixed assets, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Process payroll on a semi-monthly and bi-weekly basis; facilitate the onboarding of new hires and manage retirement plan contributions.
  • Execute monthly closing procedures to provide timely financial reports for internal stakeholders, leveraging technology for efficiency.
  • Coordinate the delivery of financial documentation to external auditors for annual reviews and compliance preparation.
  • Manage charitable registration and ensure adherence to state regulations.
  • Act as the primary liaison for financial software and tools, providing support and guidance to internal teams.
  • Review revenue and expense allocations by department and funding source, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Monitor cash flow and maintain relationships with banking and investment partners.
  • Develop regular financial health reports for the Finance Director.
  • Assist in the annual insurance renewal process in collaboration with the Finance Director.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget alongside department heads and the Finance Director.
  • Participate in monthly Finance Committee meetings and represent finance leadership as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, along with a minimum of five years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within public accounting or non-profit sectors. Strong communication skills across varying levels of financial literacy are essential. Familiarity with financial software, particularly Sage Intacct, is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to balance multiple project deadlines while maintaining flexibility and a keen attention to detail.
