Role Overview:
The Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting serves as the chief executive within the Finance and Accounting Directorate. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer and plays a pivotal role in shaping and implementing financial strategies to ensure the sustainability and growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Director of Finance & Accounting to meet corporate objectives and facilitate professional growth.
  • Formulate and execute financial strategies to support daily operations.
  • Design and manage financial systems, ensuring integration with supplementary systems.
  • Guarantee essential reporting to internal stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
  • Oversee vendor partnerships.
  • Supervise the annual budgeting process and conduct financial analyses.
  • Present financial reports and related topics to the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Conduct due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
  • Adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Exhibit advanced leadership and management capabilities.
  • Experience in the government professional services sector.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to integrate resources effectively.
  • Recognized expertise in employee stock ownership plans (ESOP), 401(k), and related areas.
  • Possess executive-level communication and managerial skills.
  • Ability to foster and maintain productive working relationships.
  • Awareness of trends impacting relevant business sectors.

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.
  • Critical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

Required Experience:
  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or an MBA, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred CPA Certification.
  • 15 to 20 years of accounting experience, with 10 to 15 years in government contract accounting.
  • Proficiency in Deltek CostPoint.
