Job Description

Pricing Specialist responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide spot quotes for lanes as requested
  • Provide support for RFQs, RFPs and RFIs as needed
  • Support development of effective business proposals and bid packages
  • Responsible for building relationships with internal Sales and Operations teams to gain understanding of market trends and seasonality in order to provide accurate quotes
  • Collaborate with internal sales and operations business partners to identify service requirements and pricing strategies for new and existing business opportunities
  • Collect and review pricing opportunities from incumbent and prospective customers
  • Responsible for maintaining pricing sheets which load to our sourcing platforms
  • Other duties as assigned that support the sales, operations and business needs
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor Degree in related field or equivalent industry experience in transportation or logistics industry
  • 2+ years' work experience in an analytical role
  • 2+ years' experience in a logistics or international transportation
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
  • Tariff, rates, accessorial pricing, class and commodities experience a plus
  • Background in Third Party Logistics a plus
  • Prefer a background in Cargowise Software
  • Working knowledge of transportation terminology and operational equipment
  • Dynamic team player with the ability to serve internal and external customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and with off-site team members, as well as with all levels of management
