Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will excel in delivering high-quality designs, managing client relationships, and driving business development initiatives. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in civil engineering design and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify design criteria and plan and execute effective designs focused on exceeding client expectations.
  • Provide direct client interface and lead plan processing at public agencies.
  • Engage in marketing, business development, lead generation, and pursuit of new work. A robust book of business is required.
  • Manage administrative and financial tasks such as invoicing, budget monitoring, proposals, change orders, and timecard approvals for the team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop schedules and supervise the coordination of workflow for the design team.
  • Oversee the preparation of plans, technical reports, cost estimates, and other client deliverables ensuring high quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with agency and client standards.
  • Supervise direct contact with agencies, oversee plan processing for approval, resolve design problems, and ensure compliance with agency requirements.
  • Coordinate with external consultants (geotechnical, landscape, plumbing, architect, etc.) and internal departments (survey, mapping, water quality, etc.).
  • Conduct site investigations, research for proposals and designs, and oversee site visits during construction to check for plan conformity and resolve construction discrepancies.
  • Provide workload forecasts, communicate resource needs with the Sr. Project Manager, and conduct staff reviews.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise 1-5 employees within the Engineering Team in coordination with the Principal or Sr. Project Manager.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, training, planning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline from a four-year college or university and ten years of civil engineering design experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as the central design figure for a team, with experience in mentoring and overseeing project workflow.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish.
  • EIT certification required; PE license or the ability to obtain a PE license within two years of hire/promotion is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D preferred.
