Mannik Smith Group is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager to enhance our dynamic engineering team in Los Angeles. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for professionals who value the significance of sustainable and active transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
In this capacity, you will oversee the design and execution of various sustainable transportation initiatives, contributing to projects that aim to positively influence communities throughout California and beyond.
Our collaborative approach encourages teamwork across disciplines, allowing you to engage with planners, landscape architects, graphic designers, outreach specialists, and data analysts.
Daily Duties Include:
- Managing diverse transportation projects from initial design through to construction.
- Driving the success of engineering projects while ensuring adherence to sustainability principles.
- Overseeing project budgets and implementing best practices to enhance project delivery efficiency.
- Mentoring junior staff and facilitating professional development within the engineering team.
- Providing leadership and technical guidance to the Los Angeles Engineering team while collaborating with other disciplines as necessary.
- Preparing project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work.
- Balancing workloads for the engineering team.
- Supporting business development initiatives.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 12 years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting or public sector environment, with at least 5 years in a project management capacity and 3 years managing staff.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- A Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or Traffic Engineer (TE) licensure.
- Comprehensive knowledge of active, non-motorized transportation principles.
- Proven experience in preparing Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for roadway projects, along with a solid understanding of project management methodologies.
Additional Skills:
- Strong initiative and ability to leverage opportunities to enhance the company's market position.
- Proficiency in managing multiple projects with competing priorities within budget and time constraints.
- Excellent leadership, ethical standards, and decision-making capabilities.
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, or MicroStation, and project management tools.
