Our Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team at Exponent in a Geotechnical Engineering role. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of geotechnical engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analyses of geotechnical and civil engineering systems to ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards.
- Evaluate construction claims related to ground conditions, earthwork, and earth structures, providing expert opinions and recommendations.
- Develop and implement conceptual designs for the repair and restoration of geotechnical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform peer reviews to ensure the quality and accuracy of project deliverables.
- Lead project teams in the execution of project deliverables, including field investigations, analyses, and written and oral presentations of findings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, providing exceptional customer service and support.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university, with a minimum of 5 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university, with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Demonstrated success in independently developing and managing client relationships, with a proven track record of excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, dedication to quality and accuracy, and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide project teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals or conference proceedings, or demonstrated leadership or activity in geotechnical professional societies.
- Past record of excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Current licensed professional civil engineer in at least one state, with the ability to become licensed in multiple other states.
