Position: Recreation Program Leader

Department: Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Community Services

Hourly Range: $18.13 - $20.99

Classification: Temporary

Non-Exempt – Overtime Eligible

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, oversight of the Lancaster Batting Range, helping patrons with token payments, cage rentals, and facility cleanliness, as well as working Citywide special events

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None


Example of Duties & Responsibilities:

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Circulate and be aware of any machine issues, incidents, accidents, and injuries that may occur at the batting range during a shift
  • Be visible and available to patrons
  • Take and process payments through ActiveNet
  • Opening and closing of the building and facility
  • Work with patrons who want to rent the cages
  • Complete cash counting reports.
  • Sanitize all helmets and bats once returned from
  • Welcomes visitors and answers incoming phone calls
  • Be friendly, courteous, and helpful to all patrons


Required Skills:

  • Ability to organize, plan, direct, and lead a group of children or adults

  • Deal tactfully and effectively with staff, participants, and the public


Education and Experience:

  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university majoring in Recreation or a related field is desirable
