ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully, develops creative solutions, and works well in group problem solving situations.  
  • Compliance: Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day leadership of team members, reducing legal risks and providing guidance on regulatory compliance. Seeks legal counsel as needed/required. 
  • Policy and Practices: Writes, implements, and communicates company policies and procedures based on local, state and federal law, including creation and maintenance of team member handbook. 
  • Team Member Experience Management: Drives alignment between SKIS vision, values & purpose and the total employment experience via recruiting, onboarding, performance, recognition, and offboarding. Drives team member connection and engagement through internal programs and events. Maintains and optimizes BambooHR information system for compliance and ease of use.  
  • Team Member Relations: Effective listener and problem solver of team member issues. Investigates complaints of harassment and makes recommendations for corrective action. Collaborates with managers on conduct and discipline related to performance and behavior that is in alignment with our core values. Facilitates exit interviews.  
  • Communication: Responsible for effective communication at all levels of the organization through verbal and written form. Actively listens and responds well to questions, demonstrates group presentation skills and ability to garner engagement. Demonstrates strong awareness of self and others. 
  • Benefits and Leaves: Partners with broker to secure benefit offerings that line up with overall compensation model designed to attract and retain talent. Oversees administration of company benefits and enrollment. Manages leaves of absence and return to work process.
  • Compensation: Analyzes wage and salary reports and data. Develops strategic compensation and benefit programs with Executive Team to attract and retain talent.  
  • Recruitment & Brand: Conducts workforce analysis and drives strategic recruitment relationships. Maintains job boards, SKIS Career and About webpages, brand materials, and online presence. Manages recruitment process, participates in hiring events and develops opportunities for sourcing talent.  
  • Hiring and Onboarding: Maintains accurate and up to date role descriptions. Owns the onboarding process and overall employment lifecycle. Interviews candidates and assists with hiring decisions. 
  • Safety Program: Manages L&I injury claims, reporting, and return to work process. Overseed the drug free workplace program including new hire and random drug testing. 
  • Performance Management: Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). 
  • Training: Provides training and identifies development opportunities and resources. Works with Operations Dept to develop SKIS University training programs for painters and office staff. 
  • Leadership: Takes responsibility for human resources team activities. Makes self-available to all levels, develops team member’s skills and encourages growth. Solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external), fosters quality focus in others. Improves processes, products and services, and continually works to improve supervisory skills. 
  • Change Management: Develops workable implementation plans and communicates changes effectively. Builds commitment and overcomes resistance. Prepares and supports those affected by change, monitors transition and evaluates results. Identifies and analyzes key metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies. 
  • Business Acumen: Understands business implications of decisions and displays orientation to profitability. Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition and aligns work with strategic goals. Able to successfully partner with Executive Team on driving key business objectives and KPIs. Manages HR department budget and GLs. 
  • Data Management: Identify, maintain, and analyze key metrics to support solutions, programs, and decision making. Develops regular team member satisfaction surveys. 
  • Committees/Events: Participates on committees and task forces as needed for interdepartmental alignment and cooperation. 
  • Personal and Professional Growth: Orientation to continuous improvement, seeks opportunities for personal and professional growth and knowledge. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and experience equivalent to: 

 

Education/Certification: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and/or equivalent of 5 - 8 years of education and/or experience combined.  
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree, SPHR or SHRM equivalent.  

Experience: 

  • 5 - 8 years of relevant work experience in human resources disciplines and administration.
