Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Association Market Specialist to join our team in the Washington, D.C. metro area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the travel industry, particularly with associations and group travel. This role will involve developing and managing relationships with association clients, creating tailored travel packages, and driving revenue through strategic sales initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with association clients, understanding their travel needs and preferences.

- Design and implement customized travel packages and programs for association members and groups.

- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of travel services.

- Identify new business opportunities within the association market to drive growth and revenue.

- Meet and exceed sales targets through proactive client engagement and strategic sales efforts.

- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging travel technologies.

- Prepare and present proposals, reports, and sales forecasts to senior management.

 

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the travel industry, with a focus on associations and group travel.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a strong preference for degrees in Hospitality, Tourism, or related fields.

- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.

- Strong understanding of the association market and travel dynamics.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency in travel booking systems and customer relationship management (CRM) software.

- OTA or major travel agency experience with an emphasis on associations and groups is highly desirable.
