Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Senior Manager of Community Engagement to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving the success of our fundraising events and volunteer program strategy. The Community Engagement Specialist will work to foster strong relationships within the community, oversee volunteer program strategy, and support the planning and execution of fundraising events. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, passionate, and committed to our mission. 

Key Responsibilities: 

    1.  Fundraising Event Coordination: 

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of community fundraising events. 

  • Provide event support in alignment with organizational objectives. 

  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote events and maximize fundraising efforts. 

  • Help create fundraising and event registration pages using online software. 

  • Manage relationships with community fundraising event hosts. 

  • Track event expenses and ensure financial goals are met. 

     2. Volunteer Program Strategy: 

  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit, train, manage, and retain volunteers. 

  • Work with Volunteer and Events Coordinator to create and maintain detailed volunteer records, including contact information, availability, skills, and interests. 

  • Work with Volunteer and Events Coordinator to provide ongoing support, guidance, and recognition to volunteers to enhance their engagement and satisfaction. 

  • Engage with key staff to implement a solid volunteer strategy that provides program enhancement while creating new opportunities for volunteers to serve. 

    3.  Data Management and Reporting: 

  • Collect and analyze data related to volunteer activities and event outcomes. 

  • Prepare regular reports on volunteer and event metrics, highlighting successes and areas for improvement. 

  • Regularly update volunteer and donor records in CRM and other systems as needed. 

  • Utilize data to inform strategic decisions and improve program effectiveness. 

     4. Creative Input and Innovation: 

  • Contribute creative ideas for community fundraising events, volunteer activities, and fundraising strategies. 

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in community engagement, fundraising, volunteer management, and fundraising. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, Communications, Event Management, or a related field. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in community engagement, fundraising, or event planning, preferably within a nonprofit organization. 

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Proficiency in volunteer management software and Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Proven track record of success in fast paced environment that values responsiveness. 

  • High orientation to systems and service excellence. 

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Computer literacy and willingness to learn and implement new software as needed. 

  • Passion for community service and commitment to the organization’s mission.
