Position: Senior Communications Strategist

Location: Remote

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience is preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role is required.

Clearance: Must be a US Citizen. DoD Secret Clearance is mandatory.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Collaborative team member, yet capable of managing projects independently
  • Strong communication abilities and adept at building relationships across various levels (internally, with clients, and across different departments)
  • Solid understanding of website usability and user experience principles

Desired Skills:

  • Graphic design proficiency
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Event planning and coordination
  • Photography and photo editing skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, compose, and refine Annual Reports, presentations, newsletters, and other communication materials.
  • Address requests from various divisions and the Front Office for communication products, special projects, and event management as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Employee Engagement Specialist to develop leadership messages, including drafting initial content and revising as needed.
  • Research, write, and compile content for the bi-weekly newsletter aimed at all employees, including outreach to different divisions and employee councils.
  • Maintain and update the Engagement project tracker.
  • Draft and distribute email communications to the workforce.
  • Oversee the Employee Highlight initiative, engaging the Employee Advisory Council to feature employees and publish updates regularly.
  • Support employee council initiatives, including event planning and newsletter production.
  • Act as a liaison for Public Affairs, pitching and writing articles, and coordinating visual content.
  • Assist in managing the Quarterly Awards program, including planning and executing award ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with the SharePoint team to enhance internal sites.
  • Support the Senior Communications Manager in organizing employee engagement events and panels.
  • Develop, edit, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for various communication tasks.

As a Team Lead, you will also:

  • Generate weekly and bi-weekly reports for the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and federal leads.
  • Manage and approve time-off requests and schedule modifications.
  • Track and document contract deliverables.
  • Assist employees with various organizational items, such as renewals and policy updates.
  • Facilitate employee check-in meetings tailored to the needs of the project manager and team members.
  • Host regular contractor team meetings.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Ensure effective communication flow with the contractor COR and federal employees.
  • Provide the COR with diverse contract and employee information as requested.
  • Collect examples of work products and employee recognition.
