Corporate Accountant
Mobile, AL
 
Local wealth management firm is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join their team in the Mobile office. The Corporate Accountant will be a key member of the Operations team, providing accurate and professional support to the Chief Financial Officer and clients of the firm. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and excels in accounting and financial management.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in QuickBooks for financial record keeping and reporting. Payroll processing will be managed through Paychex.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Process semi-monthly payroll.
  • Manage employee expense reporting, including the company credit card program.
  • Administer company benefit plans.
  • Support external CPAs in tax return preparation and annual compilations.
  • Process quarterly estimated income tax payments for company shareholders.
  • Prepare 1099 forms.
  • Maintain organized files for all accounting records.
  • Reconcile bank accounts.
  • Distribute monthly reports and invoices to clients via mail or email.
  • Coordinate with clients' other professional advisors, such as CPAs and attorneys, as needed.
  • Pay Federal and State estimated taxes as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, QuickBooks, and strong technological skills.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
