Job Summary:

As the Cafeteria Operations Manager, you will oversee the effective management of retail and cafeteria operations within Food & Nutrition Services, reporting directly to the Director of Dining Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and supervise special events, manage cash controls, maintain payroll records, and oversee the recruitment and training of hourly team members.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and uphold positive public relations through efficient resource management.
  • Guide staff to deliver scheduled retail services in alignment with corporate policies and presentation standards.
  • Train team members in customer service, portion control, cashier operations, and safety/sanitation protocols.
  • Complete all required reports on a timely basis, adhering to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members, patients, and families.
  • Implement and uphold cash handling standards as outlined in the Corporate Policies and Procedures Manual to prevent theft of services or company funds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or a related field; or an A.A. Degree with three years of relevant experience.
  • One to three years of experience in retail operational foodservice management preferred, depending on formal education or training.
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with an emphasis on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing, and presentation.
  • P&L accountability and experience in contract-managed services are desirable.
  • Experience with cash retail operations is beneficial.
  • Retail marketing experience is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively across various levels, including management, customers, and associates.
  • Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational practices.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including various software programs, Microsoft Office, email, and internet applications.
