POSITION OBJECTIVE: Is accountable and responsible for overseeing Amblitel's revenue cycle operations and maintaining client relationships. The scope of responsibility includes but is not limited to coding, insurance and patient billings, collections, cash management, Accounts Receivable management, and management of the revenue cycle staff. The Revenue Cycle Manager may be required to participate in special projects and committees at the direction of the Director/Vice President of Revenue Cycle of Operations (D/VPRCO) or CEO. The Revenue Cycle Manager reports directly to the D/VPRCO.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for the daily supervision of the Revenue Cycle personnel and delegation of duties to ensure the efficient operation of the Revenue Cycle.

- Responsible for overseeing the coding of procedures performed in the surgery center. The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for ensuring that the company's coding practices are in compliance with HCFA/Medicare and other third-party payor regulations.

- Responsible for overseeing the proper and accurate posting of payments and adjustments to patient accounts. The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for conducting monthly EOB audits to ensure proper and accurate postings.

- Responsible for overseeing the verification of medical benefits for all patients scheduled at the surgery centers. The Revenue Cycle Manager will ensure the timely and accurate verification of patients’ medical benefits.

- Responsible for overseeing all information needed for the collection of patient payments at the time of service as determined at the time of verification of benefits. The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for ensuring maximum realization of revenue at or prior to the time of service.

- Responsible for the management of the Accounts Receivable. The Revenue Cycle Manager will be responsible for overseeing the timely payment of claims and patient due balances.

- Responsible for ensuring the proper methods of receiving, recording, and depositing of patient and other receipts. The Revenue Cycle Manager will be responsible for enforcing the internal controls required for cash management.

- Responsible for reviewing staff timecards for the timely and accurate processing of payroll.

- Responsible for processing and reconciling the month-end reports. The Revenue Cycle Manager will be responsible for ensuring the completeness of billings and payments. The Revenue Cycle Manager will be responsible for forwarding the month-end reports to the facility administrators, D/VPRCO, CEO, and other persons assigned by the facility.

- Coordinating the annual evaluation of Revenue Cycle staff with the D/VPRCO.

- Analyzes and troubleshoot revenue cycle results and drills down into data capture, to identify problem areas and to develop thoughtful solutions to correct root cause of problems identified. Participate in special accounts receivable projects as requested.

- Participate in preparing and reviewing comprehensive Revenue Cycle assessment reports. Perform full-service Revenue Cycle assessments as requested on a consulting level.

- Organize and create work plans to address special accounts receivable projects associated with one-time clean-ups or wind-downs for consultant clients.

- Provide education and training to employees and clients as needed in an organized and efficient manner.

- Work with the D/VPRCO to develop revenue cycle and coding policies and procedures for staff and clients to follow.

- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly billing activities for all affiliated clients through the use of standard reports and any supplemental reports (i.e., transcription reports, coding reports, electronic clearing house reports, etc.) to ensure that each affiliated client is achieving revenue cycle goals.

- Present coding and revenue cycle activities, results, work plans, and proposed changes to Administrators, Clinical Managers, Revenue Cycle managers, and Amblitel colleagues in a concise and professional manner.

- Actively participates in the redesign of coding and revenue cycle processes, procedures and upgrading of revenue cycle tools.

- Represent Amblitel in a thoughtful and professional manner to customers, i.e. facility administrators, Revenue Cycle personnel, clinical personnel, physicians, patients and vendors

- The Director may will serve as a backup to the revenue cycle or code employees from time to time to cover absences and vacancies.

- The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for the other functions as assigned by the D/VPRCO and CEO.

- Set daily productivity benchmarks for revenue and coding staff and monitor productivity and error ratio.

- Act as liaison for billing clients, correct coding errors, and troubleshoot discrepancies in a timely manner.

- The Revenue Cycle Manager will work closely with other Managers to drive the team culture.

- Ability to understand the needs of Amblitel staff, client representatives and patients in order to resolve issues and concerns that may arise.

- Knowledge and understanding of company products and services.

Technical/Functional:

- Working knowledge of medical records systems.

- Ability to use and demonstrate the use of office machines.

Education:

- A bachelor’s degree.

- Degree in business management with a concentration in accounting or finance is preferred.

Experience:

- Experience in medical office or ambulatory surgery billing and collection procedures required. Requires extensive knowledge of Medicare and local payer coding and collection guidelines as they pertain to a medical office or ambulatory surgery center environment.

- A minimum of three years of Revenue Cycle experience in a medical office or ambulatory healthcare setting is required.

- Experience in Accounts Receivable required.

- Experience in Payroll preferred.

- Two years of supervisory experience in a medical office or ambulatory surgery center is preferred.
