Overview

The Healthcare Revenue Cycle Specialist is tasked with daily chart completion activities, which include reviewing client EHR systems for provider clarification responses and reconciling the Accuity client base DNFB on a daily basis.

This role involves managing requests and collaborating with end users such as Coders, Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists, and Client Success Managers, adhering to established client standard operating procedures. The position requires performing data collection and analysis while identifying gaps and opportunities for process enhancements.

As a liaison between Accuity operations and Client Success, effective communication with the Accuity client base HIM resources may be necessary.


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain required productivity and quality performance KPIs.
  • Stay current with coding knowledge by reviewing materials provided by Physician Staff, Coding, and CDI Leadership.
  • Engage in Coding department meetings and educational events as assigned.
  • Foster a collegial working relationship with CDI, Coding, and Client Success partners.
  • Deliver professional analytical services to enhance business performance.
  • Provide constructive feedback to Coders and Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (CDIS) as needed.
  • Analyze chart completion and proactively identify opportunities, trends, and suggested improvements.
  • Assist in special projects and additional responsibilities as required to support Accuity.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma required.
Associates Degree in Health Information Technology preferred.

Experience:
  • 2 years' experience in an inpatient healthcare environment or related field.
  • 2 years' experience in customer service.

Licensure and/or Credentials:
Active AHIMA (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC credential (CPC or CIC) required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, along with strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.
Proficient in using a PC in a Windows environment with intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and interact effectively with all levels of employees and physicians across the organization.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated, focused individual capable of working remotely or onsite.
Familiarity with EHR systems, such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts.
General understanding of ICD10 CM/PCS guidelines and principles.
