Summary:

Metro One is looking for a Regional HR Generalist / Manager. This position will oversee personnel related functions including: recruitment, employee relations, performance management and policy development. This individual will ensure compliance with labor laws, handle employee grievances and foster a positive workplace culture. Additionally, our HR manager may coordinate training programs, manage benefits administration and contribute to strategic planning for organizational development. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial in this role.


HR Generalist / Manager Requirements:

  • Prior California specific HR experience required (Litigation, Labor Law, Wage an Hour, etc.)
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
  • Minimum 4 years of talent acquisition experience
  • Minimum 4 years in HR Generalist roles
  • Minimum 4 years Employee Relations experience
  • Minimum 4 years Litigation experience
  • Minimum 4 years travel experience.
  • Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process and continuously meet any applicable state, county and municipal requirements.

HR Generalist / Manager Daily Duties:

  • Respond with urgency to client concerns. Document deficiencies noted during site visits and follow-up with appropriate communication, training, instructions, etc., providing client with corrective action taken.
  • Oversee and coordinate with Recruiters regarding field visit schedules, field recruiting, client contacts, officer coaching and retraining, and following-up on corrective measures and client requests.
  • Review assignment requests made by clients to ensure that recommended staff meet company and client standards prior to assignment.
  • Maintain staffing levels to adequate levels through effective communication and collaboration with Recruiters.
  • Maintain standards relative to overtime performance through effective scheduling and by supporting Recruitment Strategies.
  • Monitor staff performance by communicating with site managers, field managers, and clients. Document substandard performance and collaborate with the Human Resources Division to implement Progressive Discipline Strategies when necessary.
  • Issue written reprimands to staff when warranted, and maintain liaison with the Human Resources Division. Conversely, document notable achievements in the same manner.
  • Plan, develop, and execute an effective recruiting strategy. Develop an organized pipeline of candidates.
  • Screen candidates for qualifications, cultural fit, and potential for upward mobility.
  • Develop and Manage relationships with Recruiting Services and Platforms.
  • Maintain attendance standards by taking corrective measures for lateness, excessive call-outs, and no call/no show occasions.
  • Proactively monitor and adjust stand-by programs to accommodate holidays, weather conditions, and call-out trends.
  • Support Recruiter(s) in interviewing new hires when necessary, scheduling new hires appropriate to client standards, and providing schedules immediately upon officers’ completion of training. Follow-up to ensure new hires are fully integrated into the schedule in subsequent weeks.
  • Implement measures to reduce turnover.
  • Communicate changes in payroll records to the Payroll Office and Human Resources Division and provide immediate response to payroll discrepancies filed by officers.
  • Ensure compliance to post orders, uniform requirements, retraining and licensing requirements.
