Distributor Sales Development Manager (East & Central Region)

What will you do?

In this role, the Distributor Sales Development Manager will manage a program for a select group of Specialized Distributor Partners invested in developing business utilizing Schneider Electric's Digital Power Products, Systems and Services. The role requires this person to identify, motivate, & guide a select group of Distributor Partners to develop "Channel-Led" business with Digital Power's Offers.

The Distributor Sales Development Manager must be able to drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process with the Distributor Partners and assess their progress of developing a sales pipeline of customer opportunities with Digital Power solutions to meet annual performance goals.

This person will articulate and present Digital Power technology systems and product positioning to Distributor Partners. This person will also determine how best to leverage and deploy internal resources and tools to support distributors' competencies of the products and customer sales opportunities. In order to build strong Distributor Partner Specialists, the role requires traveling within the US estimated at around 30% annually.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and improve upon the Distributor Program to grow the Digital Power business
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Distributor Partners' Leadership & Sellers that invest in the program and support developing channel-led business
  • Maintain Strategic Plans (yearly/monthly) with assigned Distributor Partners
  • Understand customer business drivers & goals and keep up-to-date with customers' business situations that need additional support
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of available market and business opportunities to make recommendations to increase market share
  • Forecast channel-led pipeline and manage the distributor sales plan quarterly
  • Coordinate Partner and customer training on Schneider Electric Digital Power Solutions
  • Present & Demo Digital Power's portfolio product solutions to distributors and support field events such as conferences, seminars and others as required
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by training, reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Maintain and track potential opportunities in distributor sales plan. New customers, additional projects with the existing customer base and with Service
  • Bring new DP offers (Systems, Products or Services) to Distributor Partners and their End User Customers as they become available
  • Provide Product selection and sales process guidance in the preparation of channel-led quotes
  • Manage the relationship between Distributors Partners and the local Digital Power Sales Team
  • In conjunction with Area Channel Manager, work with assigned Partners to ensure success in meeting yearly program requirements
  • Facilitate cross-functional engagement across business units to gain alignment regarding program and end user opportunities

What qualifications will make you successful?
  • You're self-motivated with a proven track record in EPMS sales and knowledge of integrated technology
  • Have strong sales skills and be able to communicate professionally to customers at all levels of an organization
  • You are organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
  • And have relevant technical experience in the field of power monitoring and controls

Education & Experience
  • 3+ years of technical experience with Digital Power
  • 1-3 years of direct sales experience in the US
  • Engineering bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Travel
  • 30%, nationally (estimation)
