Crafting Engaging Business Narratives
The Opportunity:

Flexport seeks a talented Communications Manager to join our Global Communications team. In this role, you will collaborate with senior executives, subject matter specialists, and cross-functional teams to create compelling stories about Flexport's evolution, products, and culture.

Today, the significance of the global supply chain has never been more pronounced. Through an extensive thought leadership initiative, Flexport has established a powerful presence within existing supply chain circles and mainstream media outlets such as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Bloomberg, and more.

Now, it's time to deepen our narrative. Flexport is constructing a premier end-to-end supply chain technology platform to drive the growth of enterprises of all sizes. This role presents a unique chance to collaborate with key business units, delivering impactful stories through various media channels to enhance Flexport's brand visibility and stimulate business expansion. As a part of our Global Communications team, you will closely engage with senior leaders across diverse business domains and collaborate with teams in Sales, Marketing, Finance, and HR.
You will:
  • Plan and execute comprehensive communication campaigns to support the growth of key business segments and establish Flexport as an industry leader.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to enhance product launches and share expert viewpoints. You will serve as a trusted storyteller to drive cohesive communication and content strategies through various channels like media, podcasts, speaking events, and owned content platforms.
  • Nurture relationships with prominent media outlets covering business, retail, logistics, and technology. Our dynamic communication team interacts with leading global media organizations.
  • Create messaging, press materials, short and long-form content, and other supporting documents such as executive briefs and FAQs.
  • Support internal communication initiatives like company-wide newsletters and Global All-Hands meetings to foster a positive workplace culture and motivate employees in alignment with external messaging.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for thought leadership for Flexport and its executives, including awards and speaking engagements.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing teams to regularly update the Flexport Blog and Newsroom with relevant and engaging content.
You should have:
  • 5-7+ years of experience in communications or journalism.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective communication strategies for product launches and establishing thought leadership for senior executives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail, collaborating effectively with senior management. You possess a unique writing style and are unafraid to showcase it.
  • A deep understanding of crafting compelling narratives, both internally and externally, and utilizing appropriate media channels to shape these narratives.
  • Strong organizational abilities, thriving in a fast-paced environment, managing complex projects, multiple stakeholders, and competing priorities to deliver impactful results.
  • A team-player mindset, always ready to assist and collaborate. Flexport operates as a highly cross-functional organization, necessitating effective teamwork to drive company-wide outcomes.
  • A proactive approach, demonstrating a passion for taking action and achieving results within a dynamic team setting.

Salary ranges for positions are based on role, level, and location. Individual compensation is determined by various factors such as work location, skills, experience, and education.

The base salary range for this role in the US is between $103,950 and $115,500 USD.
